Sugar-Free Date Dessert
This date dessert relies on the natural sweetness of dates with no added sugar, plus fiber-rich ingredients like oats and healthy fats from nuts, which you can add according to your taste.
- Dates: ½ cup soft, pitted
- Oats: ½ cup quick oats
- Nuts: ½ cup raw
- Peanut Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon ground
- Cardamom: ¼ teaspoon ground
- Sea Salt: A pinch
- Warm Water: As needed for soaking and mixing
- Coconut: As desired shredded, for garnish
- Cocoa: As desired raw, for garnish
- Chia Seeds: As desired for garnish
Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain them well.
In a food processor, grind the oats and nuts until they form a coarse mixture.
Add the pitted dates, peanut butter, cinnamon, cardamom, and a pinch of salt to the food processor. Begin processing the ingredients until well combined.
Divide the mixture into your serving bowls.
Garnish the top with shredded coconut, chia seeds, or raw cocoa powder. Let the dessert cool completely and set before serving.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm. Serve with a cup of coffee.
