Light Basmati Rice

- 1/2 kg Basmati rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
Wash the rice well and soak it in water for 10 minutes. Then, drain the water.
Place the vegetable oil in a pot over the heat. Add the salt, white pepper, and rice. Cover the rice with boiling water.
Let the rice cook for 5 minutes on high heat until the water is absorbed. Then, let it cook on low heat for 30 minutes, making sure the pot is covered.
Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat. Let it sit covered for 2 minutes, then fluff it gently with a fork and serve on a platter.
