Quinoa burger is the perfect choice! This vegetarian burger is a great alternative to traditional burgers.
Ingredients
- Quinoa: 1 cup
- Carrot: 1 finely grated
- Onion: ½ cup finely chopped
- Parsley: ¼ cup finely chopped
- Cilantro: ¼ cup finely chopped
- Egg: 1 large
- Oats: 2 tablespoons oat flour
- Mixed spices: 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Rinse the quinoa thoroughly under cold running water several times.
- Boil one cup of quinoa with 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the quinoa has absorbed all the liquid and the grains are separate and tender.
- Let the quinoa cool completely before using, as this helps the burgers hold together.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked and cooled quinoa, grated carrot, chopped onion, parsley, cilantro, egg, oat flour, mixed spices, black pepper, and salt.
- Mix all ingredients well with your hands until fully combined and moldable. Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions and shape them into slightly thick burger patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Place the burger patties in the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve the quinoa burgers with whole wheat burger buns or large lettuce leaves, alongside tomato slices, lettuce, and onion.
