Ingredients
- Barley: 100 grams cooked
- Flour: 400 grams
- Yeast: 3 grams dry
- Salt: 1.5 teaspoons
- Honey: 2 teaspoons
- Warm Water: as needed
Instructions
- In a deep bowl, place the cooked barley, flour, salt, yeast, and honey. Mix the ingredients well until combined.
- Gradually add the warm water while kneading for about 10 minutes, until you get a soft and cohesive dough.
- Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rest for about two and a half hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Punch the dough down to release the air, then knead it again. Place it on a sheet of baking paper, cover it with a cotton cloth, and let it rest for an additional hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and put it in the oven for about 40 minutes, until the bread is fully cooked.
- Let the barley bread cool before serving.
