If you love sweets but are worried about weight gain or are diabetic, here is a simple recipe for sugar-free baklava for your diet.
Ingredients
- Baklava Dough Phyllo: 1 package (ready-made)
- Walnuts: 2 cups crushed
- Butter: 400 grams light, melted
- Honey: 1 cup
Instructions
- Lay one sheet of baklava dough on your work surface. Brush it with melted butter, then sprinkle crushed walnuts over it until it's fully covered.
- Roll the dough into a log, brushing the end with butter to seal it.
- Cut the walnut-filled baklava roll into equal-sized pieces.
- Repeat the process until you have used all the dough and walnuts.
- Arrange the baklava pieces in a baking tray lightly greased with butter. Brush the tops with a little more butter.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the baklava for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Pour the honey over the top of the hot baklava.
- Let it cool slightly, then transfer to a serving plate and serve.
