Tomato Bulgur
Bulgur is a type of whole grain rich in many nutrients and health benefits.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 3 tomatoes chopped
- 1 tablespoon green bell pepper chopped
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1.5 cups bulgur
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
Instructions
- In a pot over medium heat, warm the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until they soften.
- Add the tomatoes and bell pepper. Season with salt, cinnamon, and black pepper, then stir the mixture.
- Cover the pot and let it cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
- Add the bulgur, then cover the ingredients with water.
- When the mixture boils, add the tomato paste and stir. Cover the pot, reduce the heat, and let it cook until the bulgur is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Pour the tomato bulgur into a serving dish and serve immediately.
