Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tablespoon green bell pepper chopped
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 cups bulgur
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste

Instructions
 

  • In a pot over medium heat, warm the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until they soften.
  • Add the tomatoes and bell pepper. Season with salt, cinnamon, and black pepper, then stir the mixture.
  • Cover the pot and let it cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add the bulgur, then cover the ingredients with water.
  • When the mixture boils, add the tomato paste and stir. Cover the pot, reduce the heat, and let it cook until the bulgur is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  • Pour the tomato bulgur into a serving dish and serve immediately.
