Oats with Berries & Natural Honey
A healthy choice for a breakfast or light snack while you are on a diet.
Ingredients
- ½ cup quick oats
- 1 cup low-fat milk
- ½ cup berries fresh or frozen
- 1 teaspoon honey
- A pinch of cinnamon optional
- 1 teaspoon chopped almonds
- 1 teaspoon chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds optional
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine the oats and milk.
- Place the pot over medium heat until it begins to boil, then reduce the heat to low.
- Stir the oats continuously for 5-7 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the texture becomes creamy. Remove the pot from the heat.
- Add the berries, honey, and cinnamon, and stir gently.
- Pour the oats into a serving bowl, garnish with the nuts and chia seeds.
- Serve the dish warm or cold.
