Grilled Thyme Steak
This recipe uses a rich marinade of fresh herbs that gives the meat a wonderful flavor without needing a lot of oil or fat.
Ingredients
- Beef: 1 kg lean beef fillet slices, like sirloin
- Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons extra virgin
- Thyme: 1 teaspoon
- Parsley: 1 teaspoon
- Coriander: 1 teaspoon
- Rosemary: 1 teaspoon
- Garlic: 4 cloves crushed
- Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons fresh
- Mustard: 2 teaspoons
- Salt: to taste
- Black Pepper: to taste ground / fresh
Instructions
- Wash the steak slices and dry them well with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, chopped fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, coriander, rosemary), crushed garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Stir the ingredients well until combined.
- Place the beef pieces in a deep bowl and pour the herb marinade over them. Make sure all the pieces are well coated.
- Gently massage the marinade into the meat for about 15 minutes.
- Cover the bowl tightly and place the meat in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill well over medium-high heat.
- Take the meat out of the refrigerator and let it sit for a few minutes to come closer to room temperature before grilling.
- Place the marinated steak pieces on the hot grill. Grill the steak for 3-5 minutes on each side, depending on your desired level of doneness.
- After grilling, place the steak on a clean plate, cover it with aluminum foil, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve the herb-grilled steak hot with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
